Anna Christine Bain

Anna Christine Bain, age 81, passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2014. Born in Edgecombe County on March 4, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Callie B. Braswell and Mary Ann Braswell Webb. Anna was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-nine years, Robert H. Bain, Sr. They were married July 30, 1949. She was also predeceased by two sisters, Mary Ruth Thompson and Annie Lee Braswell; and five brothers, Paul Braswell, Lloyd Braswell, Marvin Earl Braswell, Jack Braswell and Dorsey Braswell. Anna was a active member of Southside Baptist Church, where she sang in the church choir until she was no longer able. She taught Sunday School for many years. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her sons, William Billy” Bain and his wife, Vickie of Nashville, NC and Robert (“Bobby”) H. Bain, Jr. and his wife, Cynthia of Rocky Mount, NC. Anna is survived by her grandchildren, Brian Bain and his wife, Amy, Matthew Bain and his wife, Kaylene, Bobby Bain, III, Kyle Bain and his wife, Megan. In addition, she is survived by her great-grandchidren: Alyssa Bain, Harley Bain, Haley Bain, Chandler Bain, Rory Bain and Auden Bain. The family would like to thank a very special niece, Diane Ezzell and her husband, Philip for their love, care and support of Anna. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at 2:00PM at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home Cremations Services. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 1:00PM. Burial will follow the service at Pineview Cemetery in Rocky Mount. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church, 4948 Carter Road, Elm City, NC 27922.
