Andy “Brad” Hardy

NASHVILLE - Andy "Brad" Hardy, age 50, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, October 18, 2021. He was born in Nash County, NC on May 26, 1971. A dedicated and diligent courier for UPS for over thirty years, Brad took his duty in delivering his customers their packages personally, always ensuring that every package was delivered safe and if necessary, out of the weather. Outside of work, he enjoyed bass fishing tournaments, taking his children fishing for catfish, and camping at the lake with his family. Brad was a caring individual, always with a positive attitude towards everything and everyone. A strong believer in his Christian faith, he instilled his faith in God in the lives of his family and of those around him. A loving and dedicated husband, father, son, brother, and dear friend to many, Brad will be forever missed, always loved, and never forgotten. Brad is survived by his wife of 21 years, Shannon Hardy; his twins, Brett Hardy and Ava Hardy; his parents, Kent Hardy and Sue Hardy of Nashville; his brother, Scott Hardy of Rocky Mount; his niece, Britany Anderson of Nashville; and his aunts, uncle, and many cousins. A Funeral Service to celebrate Brad's life will be held on Friday, October 22, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Parkwood Baptist Church, 1731 Hunter Hill Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27804, with Pastor John Scott officiating. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park with Pastor Laura Wittman officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, October 21, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the family is requesting the need for social distancing and wearing of masks due to health concerns faced around our nation at this time.   11. I’m in shock to hear this sad news about Brad. I have known him for over thirty years. He was such a sweet, kind, loving man. I remember he used to come home with Doug almost every Friday night after they got off of work at UPS and spend the night. I’m so blessed to have had the pleasure of knowing him and memories that I will forever cherish. I have also known Shannon for many years as we went to school together. I also had the pleasure of meeting his mother and father. Such a kind family.   13. Brad was a great example of who ALL dads and husbands strive to be. He was definitely raise by humble and loving parent and we will miss him dearly.

  14. When hearing the news I was sick. As Christians we are not supposed to ask why , but I did. Then I was gently reminded of the constant presence of God in the life of the Hardy family. I remember when Brett and Ava cam home. Brad had a new look. A new sparkle in his eye. He said my family is now complete and God did this for us. Shannon, there aren’t enough words to express how sorry I am for your loss. To all that knew him , there is a loss. Lean on God for comfort peace and strength and take it minute by minute. And know this separation is temporary and you will see him again.

I knew Brad as we called him Brad-a-claus, my staff and I worked for a finance company and had to work many long hours from October through January each year and we all small children. He was delivering Christmas for our families to us several times a week as we worked so that Santa would be ready. He was always the nicest person, always smiling and wearing shorts through the winter some years! Thank you Brad for delivering Christmas for so many families! You will be missed.
