William McBride "Bill" Griffith

ROCKY MOUNT – William McBride "Bill" Griffith, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2024. Born in Dauphin County, PA on May 10, 1942, he was the son of the late James Maurice Griffith Jr. and Rae Elanore Norford Griffith Hess. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Lewis Griffith, and his granddaughter, Alex Tweedy. A man of great faith, Bill was a long-time member of Westside Church of Christ where he was also an Elder. A proud veteran, he served in the United States Coast Guard until his honorable discharge. Blessed with an outgoing personality, he especially enjoyed meeting new people and developing lasting friendships. Bill enjoyed traveling both for pleasure and business as a medical supply salesman for over 10 years with Anodyne Supply. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and good friend to many, Bill will be deeply missed and never forgotten. Bill is survived by his wife, Brenda Faye Griffith; his son, James Calvin "J.C." Griffith (Kim); his stepchildren, Susan Tweedy (Scott), Patti Anderson (Bill), and Adam Sullivan; his grandchildren, Zach Langerberg, Peyton Bucher, Jesse Sullivan, and Lauren Branan (Evan); his sister, Kathy Griffith Hamilton (James); his niece, Erin Darling (Nathan); his nephew, Matt Lewis; his great nephews, Benjamin Darling and Evan Darling; his great niece, Olivia Darling; and many special extended family members and good friends. A Memorial Service to celebrate Bill’s life will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Westside Church of Christ, 2551 Benvenue Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27804, with Rev. Dr. Bill Searcy officiating and Robbie Stokes assisting. Visitation with the family will be following the service at Westside Church of Christ.
