William "Bill" Winston Martin

ELM CITY – William “Bill” Winston Martin, age 82, passed away on Monday, November 20, 2023. Born in Wake County, NC on April 5, 1941, he was the son of the late Macon Edward Martin, Sr. and Blanche Currin Martin. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Macon Edward Martin, Jr. and John Milton Martin; and his sister, Shirley Martin. Bill is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ann Rowland Martin; his sons, Wade Mitchell Martin and wife, Joy, of Rocky Mount, and Macon Todd Martin and wife, Siobhan, of Mooresville; his grandchildren, Anndria Martin Thorne (Thomas Richard), William Rowland Martin, McKenna Elizabeth Martin, Macon James Martin, and Aidan Michael Martin; and his brother, Thomas Edison Martin of Raleigh. A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at 3:00 PM at West Haven Presbyterian Church, 1001 West Haven Blvd., Rocky Mount, NC 27803 with Pastor Tyler Williams officiating. A visitation will follow the service in the West Haven Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall until 5:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Bill’s memory to West Haven Presbyterian Church, 1001 West Haven Blvd., Rocky Mount, NC 27803 or American Heart Association Eastern NC, 3131 RDU Center Drive, Suite 100, Morrisville, NC 27560.
