Turner Ricks Ingram

August 6, 2003 ~ January 14, 2023

ROCKY MOUNT - Turner Ricks Ingram passed away unexpectedly on January 14, 2023, at the age of 19. He was born on August 6, 2003, in Rocky Mount, NC, to parents, Stephen and Lisa Ingram. Turner was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, A.G. Ingram and Iris Pappas Cross. Turner was a 2022 graduate of Rocky Mount Academy and a member of Nashville Methodist Church. He had just started his second semester as a freshman at High Point University, where he was enjoying all that college life had to offer. Turner was an avid outdoorsman and adventurer who loved fishing, hunting and shooting as a member of the Top Shots Team at Rose Hill. He was a true southern gentleman who loved his friends and family and he gave the best hugs. Turner had an easy way about him and had the special gift of making everyone around him feel comfortable with his warm smile. He was kind and inclusive and proved his resiliency time and again. Turner truly felt that God saved him for something special and he shared his testimony with anyone who wanted to listen. He loved spending time on the farm and down at the river and he will be missed every day by many. Turner is survived by his parents, Stephen and Lisa Ingram; his brother, Carter Ingram; his maternal grandparents, Bert and Frankie Daniel; his paternal grandmother, Kathy Ingram; his paternal grandfather, David Cross; the best Aunt ever, Jennifer Daniel Bridges; his cousins, who were more like a brother and sister, Emory and Everett Bridges; along with a number of special friends that he loved like family. A Private Family Celebration of Turner’s Life will be held at the Ingram Family Home. In lieu of flowers please consider a memorial to one of the following organizations that meant a lot to Turner and his family: the Ronald McDonald House of Durham, or the North Carolina Wildlife Federation, or the Epilepsy Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1130 N. Winstead Avenue, Rocky Mount, NC 27804. 2. Turner and his entire family are in my thoughts and prayers. Whether it was at RMA, on Zoom, or at an HPU event, Turner always had a smile on his face. The way he answered my calls regarding HPU with a drawn out “Hey Paige” is something that makes me smile, along with how it is an honor to have gotten to work with him and get to know him as he made HPU home.

  7. Lisa, John and I are so sorry for your loss. I didn’t know Turner, except from what I have seen you post on Facebook. He had to be a great young man, because of the parents he had. You and family will be in our prayers. God will see you through this. I know because of the loss of my daughter, he never failed me, not once.
    Love to you and family.

  8. I enjoyed so much making Turner a tee shirt quilt from his many, many tee shirts. What a joy to see the many activities he was involved in, especially the ones where he was helping others. What a delight to see his many accomplishments and learn about his expert marksmanship. What a well rounded young man with great Christian values. A son and grandson to be so proud of. He will be dearly missed. This is a picture of the quilt before being assembled.

  9. Our deepest condolences and prayers to all the family. We know that Emory and Everett thought of him more as a brother than their cousin. We deeply appreciate his positive influence on our family. He will be forever missed. May you find comfort knowing that he is with our Heavenly Father now.
    Lovingly, Glenn and Dale Bridges

  24. Turner was a member of our “Kilby family” and we are just heartbroken to hear of his passing. He was such a kind and gentle young man, and I always enjoyed talking to him, usually on the pier while he was fishing. The last time I talked to him was the weekend before he left for college, and he was so excited to start on that new journey. My heart breaks that his journey was cut short. We will miss seeing him on the weekends down at the river, but we know he is in God’s hands now.

My heart goes out to the whole family. We are praying that you will find peace even in your grief.

Love, Caroline Orr Bueno & family
