ROCKY MOUNT – Thomas Earl Peace, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2016. Born in Edgecombe County, NC on July 20, 1940, he was the son of the late Robert Peace and Dollie Denby Peace.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Fannie Peace; his son, Ray Peace; his brothers, Buck, Henry, Ray, and Raymond Peace; and his sisters, Dean Peace, Juanita Cone, and Louise Bozard.

Tom leaves behind to cherish his memory, his daughter-in-law, Sherry Peace; his grandsons, Chris Oliver and Kyle Oliver; his brothers, Bill Peace and wife, Lizzie, John Peace and wife, Nellie, and Doug Peace and wife, Christine; his sisters, Frances Harlow and husband, James, and Jean Crabtree; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. Allan Gardner officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and relatives Wednesday, September 28, 2016 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

  1. I lit a candle for my (Brother & Buddy Tom Peace) I will miss picking him up on Sat Mornings & going to get some Slab Bacon at Cle’s , he would call me on Fri. Night & tell me to call & make sure they had some {Slab} I’ve lost two of my best Buddies this year, Tom & Raymond & I love & miss them both! sleepysleepysleepy Doug Peace ( Bubba )

  4. Uncle Tom would love to watch his great nephew’s Play baseball.. Every chance he got he would come.. I loved him very much and can’t believe he is gone to be with our lord. Give pa Raymond a big huge from us.. And I hope to see y’all soon..

  5. I only had the pleasure of knowing Uncle Tom for a little over 5years, when I married his nephew Dennis, I just want to say I am sorry and am praying for his family. I will always remember he was one of the best men I ever met! I remember the first time I ate a meal with him, He said to mecome on here girl and eat, we won’t bite you! I wasn’t nervous after that. RIP Uncle Tom Peace.

  6. Praying for all the family. Mr Tom was a good man. Always enjoyed talking to him at Church. I know he n Ray are rejoicing together today in Heaven.
