Greensboro- Ronnie L. Lamm, 73, died Tuesday October 21, 2014. A memorial service will be held on Monday October 27, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Forbis and Dick North Elm St. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the service. There will also be a memorial service held on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at 3:00pm at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home, 1130 N. Winstead Avenue, Rocky Mount, NC 27804 . The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the service. Ronnie was born August 20, 1941, in Nash County, NC to the late Roy Douglas and Mattie Pridgeon Lamm. He was a graduate of Spring Hope High School. He married Margie Moore on October 9, 1966. Besides his loving wife, Margie, Lamm leaves a daughter, Lori Ann Lamm of Greensboro. He is also survived by nieces, Amy Lamm Winham (Brian), Terri Lamm Hudkins (Scott) and nephew Michael Glover (Cheryl) and two precious kitties Cookie Ears and Blue. Preceding him in death were his parents, a brother, James (Billy) Lamm, and Sister Mary Ellen Glover. Lamm retired from Sears, Robuck Co. in 1994, after 35 years of service. His Sears career began in 1959 as a salesman in the paint department of the Rocky Mount store. He became the manager of the catalog department of that store and was subsequently promoted to manager of the catalog department in Fayetteville. Later assignments included manager of Fayettevilles Spring Lake store, personnel manager of Sears in Columbia, SC, assistant store manager in Lynchburg, VA, automotive merchandise manager for the Greensboro Zone, and store manager in Burlington, NC. From 1989 until he retired in 1994 Lamm was store manager of Sears- Friendly Center, Greensboro. While at Spring Lake, Lamm became very involved with the Association of the US Army (AUSA), a go-between organization involving members both the military and civilian community. He served as president of the local Braxton Bragg Chapter of the AUSA and later as national vice president. Although he wasnt a military veteran, Lamm was recognized by governors and generals alike for his unselfish and enthusiastic advocacy for the military. Lamm was a member of Parkway Baptist Church. The family would like to thank those that visited, sent cards, called and prayed for them.
