Ralph Dawson Webb

ROCKY MOUNT – Ralph Dawson Webb, age 86, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 3, 2023. Born in Macclesfield, NC on May 8, 1937, he was the son of the late John Dawson and Daisy Brown Webb. He was also preceded in death by the Love of His Life, Lois and their infant daughter Teresa Webb. Also, his sister, Leona Broadway of Wilson, and brothers Lewis Webb of Wilson and John Webb of Macclesfield. Ralph graduated from the Durham Barber School in 1959 and went on to cut hair at Ricks Hotel located on Main Street, Rocky Mount. He later proudly owned his own shop, Webb’s Barber Shop on Nashville Rd in Rocky Mount for 61 years. He spent many years cherishing and serving his church and church family at Second Presbyterian Church and later at West Haven Presbyterian. However, we all know that being able to travel with his family to Atlantic Beach and the mountains meant the world to him! He leaves behind his sons, Ralph Dawson Webb, Jr. and wife Ann, Michael Webb and wife Stephanie, all of Rocky Mount. He was a loving Granddaddy to Brandon Webb (Janet) of Fuquay Varina, Sarah Robinson (Will) of the UK and Garrett Webb (Veronica) of Wilson. Great-grandchildren, Zoe and Griffin Webb of Fuquay Varina. He will also be remembered by his step-grandchildren, Shannon Morgan (Mac), Marsha Masney and Ken Harrell (Suzanne); and step-great-grandchildren: George, Alfie, Erin, Bryson, Kayleigh, Ava, Matthew, Chesson, Andrew and Kendall. Also survived by his sister-in-law Peggy Webb, several nieces and nephews and foster siblings Jackie Abrams Duncan, Bobby Abrams, Jeri Joyner, and their spouses. A Funeral Service to celebrate Ralph’s life will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Pastor Tyler Williams of West Haven Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will follow the service at Macclesfield Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to West Haven Presbyterian Church in Ralph’s memory.
