Peggy Hendricks Tyson

SPRING HOPE – Peggy Hendricks Tyson, age 80, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 20, 2023. Born in Nash County, NC on October 6, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Wade Washington Hendricks and Mary Etta Sherrod Hendricks. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Brian “Justin” Beddingfield; her brother, Roy Lee Hendricks; and her sister, Ginger Hendricks Lamm. Peggy will forever be remembered for her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Her dedication to her family and others, along with her quick-witted and charming sense of humor, will be cherished eternally. Peggy’s beautiful smile, a radiant reflection of her inner joy, will always hold a special place in the hearts of her loved ones. She possessed an insatiable thirst for adventure and travel, constantly seeking new experiences. Peggy delighted in immersing herself in the teachings of the Bible, finding solace and inspiration within its sacred pages. Nature was her sanctuary, and she found immense joy in tending to her garden and embracing the great outdoors. Above all, Peggy treasured the moments spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cherishing the opportunity to create lasting memories together. Sharing a delicious meal with family and friends was one of Peggy's greatest pleasures. She took immense pride in her culinary skills and derived immense joy from preparing and sharing delicious dishes that brought people together. Her special collection of pocket books and shoes were a testament to her impeccable taste and sense of style, reflecting her prissy yet endearing personality. Peggy possessed a remarkable ability to connect with anyone she encountered. Her genuine warmth and kindness brought out the best in people, leaving a lasting impression on their lives. Her presence was a beacon of light, radiating love and acceptance to all. In the hearts and memories of those who were fortunate enough to have known Peggy, her faith, selflessness, humor, and zest for life will forever be celebrated. Her legacy will continue to inspire others to embrace adventure, cherish loved ones, and find joy in the simple pleasures of life. Peggy is survived by her husband of 50 years, Tommy Edward Tyson; her daughters, Pamela Scaff Beddingfield and husband, Brian, and Donna Scaff Cady; her grandchildren, Brittany Beddingfield Cutri and husband, Dustin, Tyson Mitchell Cady, and Tyler Harrell Cady; her great-grandchildren, Addison Layne Beddingfield, Carter Britt Kelly, and Lucas Kenji Cutri; her brothers, Marshal Hendricks and wife, Faye, William Hendricks and wife, Cathie, James Hendricks, Van Hendricks, and Tommy Hendricks; her sisters, Juanita Marshall, Patrica Wohl, and Brenda Spivey and husband, Joey; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service to celebrate Peggy’s life will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. Billy Webb officiating. Burial will follow the service at Forest Hill Cemetery in Nashville. The family will receive friends and relatives on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home. Peggy was truly blessed to have been surrounded by a multitude of special angels, also known as caregivers, throughout the past few years. Among them, there was one particular angel named Latricia Messer, who entered Peggy's life seven months ago and provided unwavering care and support in every possible way. Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made in Peggy’s memory to Macedonia Baptist Church, 551 Macedonia Road, Spring Hope, NC 27882.   1. To know Peggy was to love her. We worked many years at Abbott’s Lab. She was
    a Line coordinator. Before covid, we reconnected with each other. she said I am
    coming to a retiree meeting just to see you. so glad I got to see her. Surely will be missed
    We are the only two that know of the pocket book story. Rest in the lord sweetie. no more

  3. Such a sweet soul that I was lucky enough to spend a weekend at Myrtle Beach years ago and their were four of us. We were better known as the Golden Girls after one comedy show we attended, Fun times and special memories. Hugs and prayers for her family!
