SHARPSBURG - Peggy Clark Hurdle, age 89, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022. Born in Wilson County, NC on May 22, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Sidney Clark and Stella Williams Clark. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Matthew Hurdle, Jr.; her brothers, Marvin, Wilton, and Bill Clark; her sister, Mildred Ferrin; and her dear fur-baby, Sugar.
Peggy retired from Dr. Puthenveetil's office with Boice Willis Clinic after over 30 years of dedicated service. She was a member of Memorial Baptist of Rocky Mount. Peggy's devotion to her family was always foremost to her and she was an avid history buff, always wanting to learn more and share her knowledge with others. A loving mother, sister, and true friend to many, she will be forever missed by all who knew her.
Peggy is survived by her daughters, Brenda Hurdle (Bruce Wayne Murray) of Sharpsburg and Linda Hurdle Poole (Richard) of Greenville; numerous nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.
A Funeral Service to celebrate Peggy's life will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Pastor Tony Russ officiating. Burial will follow the service at Pineview Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.

Aunt Peggy was a very good woman have a very many good memories of her when I was young
Linda and Brenda, my heart is so sad with the passing of your sweet mother. I have such fond memories of times spent with your family and was always made to feel like family. The slideshow shows just how living and loyal she was to so many. Please know that you all are close in my prayers and that I love you both.

Linda and Brenda I was so sad to learn of your mother’s death. It is devastating when a parent dies, no matter your age. Aunt Peggy had such a sweet disposition and I remember her always smiling. She loved to tell family stories about growing up with my mother, her big sister Diddy . She will be missed.
