Nora “Cookie” Luper Rose

ROCKY MOUNT - Nora “Cookie” Luper Rose, age 71, passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2016. Born in Edgecombe County, NC on March 29, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Wiley Edward Luper and Susie Oast Luper. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Julius E. Rose; and her brothers, Tom Luper, and Wallace Luper. Cookie was the owner of Tape City since 1970. She loved music and enjoyed traveling with family and friends. She always put others before herself and would donate to charities, churches, local law enforcement groups and veterans. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and will be dearly missed by all those who knew her. Cookie leaves behind to cherish her memory, her sons, Julius Rose, II of Rocky Mount; Brian Liles and wife, Patti, of Manassas, VA; and Bobby Liles of Rocky Mount. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Thomas, Noah, Olivia, Julianne, Anna, Claire, Bobby, Haylee, and Allie; and her sister, Ida Harper of Rocky Mount. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home Cremation Services with Rev. A. Paul Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, July 22, 2016 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home Cremation Services.
