Marvin Lee Moore

ROCKY MOUNT – Marvin Lee Moore, age 79, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2023. Born in Nash County, NC on October 7, 1944, he was the son of the late William Ashley Moore and Ruby Pridgen Moore. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Rueben Moore and Bobby Ray Moore; his daughter, Rose Marie Weatherly; and his granddaughter, Heather Lee Drake. Marvin enjoyed the outdoors. He loved to go fishing and deer hunting. Marvin also enjoyed bird watching while being outside with nature. His yard was pristine while taking wonderful care of his garden and flowers. Marvin was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Most of all, he was a most wonderful friend, and his heart and spirit will forever be remembered. Marvin is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lois Williams Moore; his son, Michael Lee Moore and wife, Beverly, of Rocky Mount; his great-grandchildren, Johnny Joe “J.J.” Stotesberry, Jason Scott Stotesberry, and Shannon Marie Stotesberry; his sister, Bettie Ruth Lynch; and many several nieces and nephews. A Special Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2023, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Flowers are welcome.   2. My deepest sympathy goes out to you Lois and Michael. I always remembered Lee smiling every day I saw him. We had really good times working together and socializing at the pig pickin’ at your house. Those were special times that can never be forgotten. My prayers and love are with you and your family.
