ROCKY MOUNT - Martha Carroll Cowan Oleksa, age 83, passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2019. Born in McDowell County, WV on November 28, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Dover Cowan and Thelma Caroline Nunn Cowan. Martha leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughter, Karen Cotton and husband, Russell, of Red Oak; and sons, Chuck Oleksa and wife, Kathy, of Raleigh, and Johnny Oleksa of Winston-Salem. She is also survived by five grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Joe Cowan and wife, Nancy, of Macon, GA; and several nieces and nephews. A Private Family Graveside Service will be held at a later date at Woodlawn Memorial Park & Cemetery, Bluefield, WV.
