Margaret Davenport Tyndall

Rocky Mount - Margaret Davenport Tyndall, age 86, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 2, 2016. Born in Lenoir County, NC on December 15, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Walter Davenport and Janie Grady Davenport. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Allen Tyndall. More than anything, Margaret will be remembered as a loving partner to her husband, Allen. Margarets heart of gold and loving spirit will be cherished by all of her family and friends. Margaret leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughter, Linda Tyndall Mathes and her husband, Dr. Gordon Mathes; her three grandchildren, Sean Branch and wife, Kilbi; Barbara Yurkutat and husband, Bobby; and Susie Davis and husband, Tripp; and seven great-grandchildren, Chloe, Saylor, Baker Branch; Anna Grace Caroline Yurkutat; and Spencer Paige Davis. She is also survived by her sister, Ronell Harper and husband, Leo; her brother, Bobby Davenport; and sister, Brenda Pierce and husband, Donald. Our heartfelt love and appreciation goes to her beloved caregiver, Carolyn Lamm. Carolyn went above and beyond to ensure her last years were filled with love, joy, and laughter. The family wishes to express gratitude to the caring staff of Hospice of Nash Health Care Systems. Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made in Margarets memory to the Alzheimers Association. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 2:30 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM prior to the service. Burial will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Kinston, NC.
