ROCKY MOUNT - Lea Latta Cook, age 72, passed away on Monday, March 8, 2021. Born in Miami County, IN on December 7, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Paul Latta and Margaret Katherine Cox Latta.
Lea is survived by her husband of 32 years, Michael Cook; her sons, Tony Kinzie (Bonnie) of Rocky Mount, Patrick Cook (Emily) of Red Oak, and Eric Cook (Lisa) of Nashville; her grandchildren, Beth Overton (Luke), Ethan Cook, Ava Cook, and Sarah Cook; her soon-to-be great-grandchild, baby Overton; and her canine son, Steel.
A Celebration of Lea's Life will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Dortches Baptist Church, 4776 Dortches Blvd., Rocky Mount, NC 27804 with Pastor Phillip Barton officiating. A visitation will immediately follow the service briefly in the Sanctuary of Dortches Baptist Church.
The family would like to extend a special heartfelt thank you to the staff at Autumn Care of Nash for their dedicated service in caring for Lea.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the family is requesting the need for social distancing and wearing of masks due to health concerns faced around our nation at this time.
