Judith Cawthorne Kirilov

WAKE FOREST – Judith Cawthorne Kirilov, age 86, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2026.  Born in Wilson County, NC on April 2, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Roland Guy Cawthorne and Clarice Ana Eatmon Cawthorne.  She was also preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Philip “Phil” Jackson Kirilov; and her brother, Eugene “Gene” Cawthorne.

Judith was a woman of deep faith whose love for the Lord was evident throughout her life.  A devoted member of Living Faith Fellowship for many years, she faithfully served her church family in numerous ways, including singing in the choir.  Even during seasons when health challenges prevented her from attending services regularly, Judith remained steadfast in her commitment to the Lord and continued faithfully supporting her church through her tithes and prayers.  She cherished her family and was a loving wife, devoted mother, and friend to all who knew her.  Known for her warm and welcoming spirit, Judith never met a stranger and had a remarkable ability to make others feel at home.  She enjoyed bowling and was an active member of a bowling league, participating in numerous national competitions over the years.  During a period of military service when her husband, Phil, was stationed in Japan, Judith developed a love for crafting beautiful Japanese dolls, a hobby she greatly enjoyed.  She also loved shopping and finding joy in life’s simple pleasures.  Above all, Judith’s legacy is one of faith, kindness, devotion to family, and a genuine love for people.

Judith is survived by her daughters, Lisa Kirilov Wells and husband, Clarence, of Wake Forest, Crystal “Tamara” Kirilov of Rocky Mount, and Katherine “Katy” Kirilov Tyndall and husband Trey of Myrtle Beach, SC; her grandson, who serves our country, Michael Philip Willis (Sarah Spaeth); and her great-grandchildren, Lyra H. Spaeth and Iris E. Tyndall.

A Funeral Service to celebrate Judith’s life will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Living Faith Fellowship, 1090 West Mount Drive, Rocky Mount, NC  27803 with Rev. Ramon Mizell officiating.

Burial will take place at Pineview Cemetery.
