ROCKY MOUNT – Joan Colbert, daughter of the late Silas J. Colbert Sr. and Ruth Simms Colbert, was born on March 22,1949 in Baltimore, Md. On Tuesday, January 28, 2025, she transitioned to glory surrounded by her friend Marylou Denn as she ministered to her in song, “Blessed Assurance”.

A Funeral Service to celebrate Joan’s life will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 10:30 AM at RISE Church – Rocky Mount Campus, 3520 Bishop Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.  The Wake will be from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM prior to the service in the Sanctuary.

The family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, February 14, 2025, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1130 N. Winstead Ave., Rocky Mount, NC 27804.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made in Joan’s memory to RISE Church – Rocky Mount Campus, 3520 Bishop Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.

    I just found out today that you were in the arms of Jesus, the last time l saw you was about a year and a half ago in Sams Club. My children and l loved you more than you will ever know!!!!
