Jeffrey Monroe "Jeff" Stone

ROCKY MOUNT – Jeffrey Monroe "Jeff" Stone, age 55, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 13, 2023. Jeff was born in Nash County, NC on January 26, 1968. He was preceded in death by his father, Cleveland Monroe "Bucky" Stone. A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Jeff served overseas as a mortarman during the Persian Gulf War earning multiple awards and citations. Both prior and after serving his country, he worked for Hughes Supply for over 30 years as a plumbing supply salesman. Known as a “jack of all trades”, Jeff enjoyed building engines, working on vehicles, and taking on multiple projects. In addition to building engines, as a gun enthusiast he enjoyed gunsmithing and modifying rifles and other firearms. A devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and dear friend to many, Jeff will be forever missed and never forgotten. Jeff is survived by his wife, Sherrie Ann Bradley-Stone; his daughters, Brittany Lester (Ronald), Ashley and Jessica Stone, and Kayla Bradley; his sons, Jeffrey Stone, Jr., and Kyle and Kameron Bradley; his grandchildren, Kaitlin, Madelyn, and Carter Lester, Brianna Walters, Jase and Natalie Garris, Brooklyn and Braelyn Rogers, and Alexis, Skylar, and Maggie Bradley; his mother, Betty Sue Butler Stone Turner; his sister, Tracey Stone; his brother, Kelly Stone (Cindy); and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service to celebrate Jeff’s life will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1130 N. Winstead Ave., Rocky Mount, NC 27804, with Rev. Thomas Ray officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
