Jack is a native of Concord, NC and remained in touch with many of his fellow Spiders from Concord High School. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1965 with a BS in Industrial Relations. He had a fulfilling career as a human resource professional, including in the North Carolina furniture industry, as Director of Personnel Operations with the former parent company of Hardee’s, as Vice President of HR with Byrd’s Food Stores in Burlington, NC, and finally as Vice President of HR with Community Home Care & Hospice in Rocky Mount. Jack was an avid tennis player and enjoyed a variety of other activities including woodworking, model trains, and model airplanes. He was a 15-year survivor of prostate cancer and bravely battled Parkinson’s disease for many years.
