Hazel Stallings Manning

Rocky Mount - Hazel Stallings Manning, age 95, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2015. Born in Nash County on December 20, 1919, she was the daughter of the late James Bennette Stallings and Hariet Hogg Stallings. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ollie Stephen Manning ; a daughter, Linda M. Gupton; and a son, William Kenneth Manning. Hazel was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother . She was a simple lady who led a simple loving life. Her greatest joy was the time she spent with her family, going to her church and her church family. She loved her in-laws and the word that they best used to describe her is perfect. Hazel leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughter, Sharon Manning Pearce and her husband, Kevin of Zebulon, NC; a son, James Louis Manning and his wife Judy of Rocky Mount, NC. She also leaves to cherish her memory five grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and two great -great grandchildren A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 7, 2015 at 1:00PM at the Harvest Baptist Church, 2325 Old Mill Road, Rocky Mount, NC with Pastor Gary Wood and M.L. Pridgen officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Bailey Cemetery, Hwy 581, Bailey, NC, 27807, In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Building Fund of Harvest Baptist Church, 2325 Old Mill Road, Rocky Mount, NC Arrangements entrusted to Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home Cremation Services, 1130 N. Just won’t b the same anymore. I know u r rejoicing now cause u r with Jesus r u a good example for what a christian is.   4. Mrs. Manning was the most Godly woman I ever met and I loved her dearly. She touched my heart every time I was in her presence. Church will never be the same without her singing in the choir or praising her Lord from the pew. She was an awesome woman who was an inspiration for so very many.
