BATTLEBORO - Frederick "Fred" William Miller, Sr., age 85, passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2022. Born in Hocking County, OH on December 31, 1936, he was the son of the late Frederick Leotis Miller and Trella Omega Oyler Miller.
Fred retired with the US Army as an Airborne Paratrooper after 20 years of dedicated service. He also retired with the US Postal Service as a Postal Handler after many years of service. Fred enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was extremely proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved nothing better than spending time with them. Fred was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and brother and will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Fred is survived by his wife of 63 years, Bonnie Barber Miller; his children, Cathy Miller Coburn of Blanchester, OH, Frederick "Ricky" William Miller, Jr. (Brenda) of Rocky Mount, Angela Miller Clark (John) of Battleboro, Bruce Anthony Miller of Salisbury, and Nicole Miller Eakins (Michael) of Virginia Beach, VA; his grandchildren, Donnie Sepeck (Yelana), Katie Koeppen (Matt), Tabatha Viljoen (Jacques), Tiffany Miller (Brad), Chad Coburn, Samantha Bowyer, and Michael Bowyer, II; his great-grandchildren, Lillianna "Sunshine" Purtle, Hans Viljoen, Luke Koeppen, Austin Sepeck, Zeke Koeppen, Trenton Miller, Zoe Eakins, Nolan Sepeck, and soon to be Baby Boy Miller; his sisters, Patricia Pavlik of Sharonville, OH and Latisha Piety (Dan) of Blanchester, OH; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Fred's Life will be held on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. Carlton Cockrell officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the family is requesting the need for wearing of masks due to health concerns faced around our nation at this time.
