I remember Mr. Floyd Brown as a very loving, caring, and Godly man. He was always friendly and made everyone feel like part of the family, the family of God. He inspired me to come to know God as a young child and I will be forever grateful for his dedication to the Lord. I did not understand at the time, but I often looked at Mr. Brown and his wife and wanted what they had. What they had and forever will have is a genuine love for God. He was a gentle man who inspired others by his daily living for the Lord and the world is a better place because he was part of it. I will never forget him and pray that God will give the world more people like Mr. Floyd Brown and his wife Joyce.
Mr. Brown taught Sunday School the first Sunday of every month for 18 years at Nash Correctional Institution. I don’t recall his missing a Sunday in my seven years as chaplain there. We have missed him the few months since illness required him to step away from a work he enjoyed and through which he blessed all of us. Well done, good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of your Master. (The Rev.) Henry D. Greg Gregory, former chaplain, now caseworker at Nash Corr. Inst.
I haven’t seen Floyd in several years but thoroughly enjoyed him while living in Sharpsburg, NC. I attended church with Floyd on several occasions and thought the world of him. Both Floyd and Joyce are the sweetest people. They always made me feel welcomed into the family of Sharpsburg church. I am so sorry Joyce and I know you will miss him dearly. My prayers and thoughts are with your family. Just know he is in a better place. Robin N. Murray

What a privilege to know someone like Floyd Brown. It was our privilege to be his Pastor for five years, and he and Joyce were so faithful to the Church, and always helping out in every capacity they could. We grew to love them as a couple, and our friendship grew over the years, we will miss him and his humor, and kindness shown to everyone by someone who was so faithful in his walk with Christ. Our thoughts and Prayers are with Joyce and the entire family. May God’s love and Grace sustain all of you. Thanks for every remembrance of you Floyd. Davide & Evelyn Crawford
