Dianne Wiggins Seagroves

TARBORO – Dianne Wiggins Seagroves, age 76, passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, surrounded by her children. Born in Alamance County, NC on December 13, 1946, she was the daughter of the late John Hamilton Wiggins and Hazel Wiggins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Seagroves. Dianne was a special education teacher for more than 30 years. She was a strong advocate for her students. She loved each student that she had as if they were her own, often using her personal money to pay for whatever a child needed. She was a great Mom and Nanny who supported her children and grandchildren in everything they did. She will be greatly missed. Dianne is survived by her children, John Seagroves (Corrie), Michelle Chambers (Dwayne), and Rocky Seagroves (D.J); her grandchildren, Brooke Eyrich (Tim), Caleb Chambers, Beth Seagroves, Jack Seagroves, Parker Jones, and Payton Seagroves; her sisters, Vickie Dodson and Christy Childers (Carey); and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service to celebrate Dianne’s life will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Dr. Jody Wright officiating. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Dianne’s memory to Alzheimer's Association Eastern NC, 5171 Glenwood Ave., Suite 101, Raleigh, NC 27612 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.   2. Michelle and family, I am so sorry. I enjoyed my time teaching at the same school with Dianne. She could have us laughing most anytime we were with her. She did love teaching and her family.
