Claude Julian "CJ" Tyler Bryant

May 8, 1989 ~ May 3, 2023

ROCKY MOUNT – Claude Julian “CJ” Tyler Bryant, age 33, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2023. He was born in Lexington County, SC on May 8, 1989. He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Jessica Hall. To CJ, his fiancé, Laura, and his children were his world, and he was always putting his family first. Whether it was playing nerf ball in the house with his kids, building forts, playing golf, or taking his children on a ride on their four-wheeler (the muddier the better), he absolutely loved being a dad. A gentle giant, even when it came to teaching and instilling discipline in his children, CJ made sure to do so in the gentlest of ways and always making sure they learned what was right and what was wrong. Blessed with a sense of humor, his son Ashton and his daughter Haleigh recalls CJ always finding new ways to make them laugh. He found joy and excitement everywhere he went, especially when he and his kids would stumble upon any creek which would always end in pulling his son Lincoln out of the water and an abundance of laughter. Other times CJ would create more subtle memories such as enjoying a lazy day cuddled on the couch with any of one of his children, interrupted occasionally with tickling his daughter Sydni and laughter. Outside of family life, CJ worked for S.T. Wooten Construction Company, the last six years as an Asphalt Superintendent. Always one to finish company projects ahead of schedule, he was known for his great relationship with his crews, co-workers and always putting their needs and safety before his own. CJ is survived by his fiancé, Laura Moore; his sons, Ashton Bryant and Lincoln Bryant; his daughters, Haleigh Bryant and Sydni Bryant; his mother, Lara Bryant; his brother, Brian Keith Bryant; his sister, Kristina Williams; his grandmother, Barbara Beck; his mother-in-law, Amy Kiser; his father-in-law, Edwin Burkhimer; his brothers-in-law, Rob Cline and Michael Craig; his sister-in-law, Jenny Shatley; his aunt, Melinda Johnson; his nephews, Alex Bryant (Jamie), Shawn Williams, and Decklin Caudle; and his best friends, Matt Tolley and Chris Johnson. A Special Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in CJ’s memory to the care of his family, c/o his fiancée, Laura Moore, PO Box 7182, Rocky Mount, NC 27804 or to the go.fund.me to support Claude "CJ" Bryant’s four children and family https://gofund.me/d30e07c5 Arrangements entrusted to Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1130 N. 2. Q: Describe where Claude Julian worked and what they did

A: When CJ joined our team at Stay Alert Safety at an early age we were so impressed with how mature and respectful he was. His work was impeccable and he was a leader that was defined by his example. When he informed us he wanted a new challenge and an opportunity to do something different we hated it but understood, true to his character he left in good standing with our full support and did it the right way as he always did. A true professional. He always treated people the way the he wanted to be treated.
God Speed CJ, you certainly will be missed by your friends and family at Stay Alert.
