Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. One of the most supportive and inspirational nursing instructors ever. She was a blessing to everyone who ever met her. They often say that you can’t teach compassion, Cheryle did. Prayers for her daughters, whom she loved dearly and was so very proud of!

  2. It is with MUCH regret that I learn of Cheryl’s death today. We worked together as nursing faculty at Nash Community College. Eventhough I had retired several years ago, we continued to keep in touch. Prayers to all family members. May God bless all family members. Jo Anne G. Rodri

  3. I want to send my deepest sympathy to the family of Cheryle Traish. The bible tells us we can gain comfort from God, even during times of sorrow. We pray to our heavenly father for help to cope with the sorrow felt from the death of a loved one. By prayer and supplication along with thanksgiving, let your petitions be made known to God; and the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your mental powers by means of Christ Jesus. Philippians 46 May you find comfort by relying on our heavenly father and learning more about the blessings of God’s kingdom. Local ministry volunteer

  4. Big Traish was a wonderful personality. She was kind and approachable. As an instructor, her way of making the complexities of nursing simple and sometimes humorous, was refreshing. There are none, nor will there ever be another person like her. She is missed. Her impact on the nursing field will ripple for lifetimes. RIP

  5. Cheryl was one of the nicest and sweetest people I knew. She was honest and caring and she will be missed. Praying for her family, Diane Turner

  6. Most calm human being I’ve ever met! She was such a patient and understanding instructor! I just started working with her at the college and she had already imparted so much of her great wisdom to me. Very sad that I will not have the opportunity to pick her brain again. I will cherish the time I did get with her! The nursing world has lost one of a kind! Praying for her family, they meant every to her!

  7. The sweetest soul I have ever known. Always a kind word and smile. She will be truly missed. Love and prayers to her family

  8. She was a wonderful person inside and out. She had a beautiful heart, full of love. She would give you the shirt off her back, and wouldn’t think twice about it. She always put a smile on everybody’s face. God, be with her family through this time of grief. Nash community college will not be the same without her. She will be missed and never be forgotten. I know God saved her a V.I.P seat in heaven. Rest In Peace Mrs. Triash. I love you!

  9. Over the 50+ years I knew Cheryle, she was always the same sweet, calm, compassionate person from day one. An excellent nurse with a gift of sharing her knowledge in a comfortable and humorous manner. Taken away from us much too soon. Thank you for being you. Rest in peace sweet lady.

  10. I would not be the nurse I am today if Mrs. Traish had not been one of my instructors. She nursed patients and helped to create great nurses with ease. I am deeply saddened of her passing. I will keep the family in my prayers. Elizabeth Jones

  11. There are no words to describe the indelible mark you made upon my life. To say you were an inspiration is a vast understatement. I have never encountered a more compassionate, kind-hearted person in my life. You always had an open door, a smile, a funny story, encouraging words, an ear to listen to whatever I needed to talk about outside of nursing, and a love of nursing that was nothing short of contagious. Knowing that you truly believed in me, as you do all your students, was such a confidence booster, and still is. You always knew just the right thing to say or do. You touched every soul you encountered. My heart is so very heavy with grief. I love you and miss you more than words can convey. You will always be remembered. My thoughts and prayers are with her daughters and her husband. She very often spoke about them in class (and always with a big smile). Her love and pride in her family was always evident. I pray that they find the peace and comfort they need during this very difficult time.

  12. I love you and will cherish the time we had together. There will always be a whole in the family that we will keep treasured memories of you

  13. A true angel in life and in every way she touched her students, patients, family, professional!!! Heaven is blessed though many wish she was still here! Rest and let you be showered with hundreds before you that were blessed by you!!! Shower those who are left behind with your grace! Many prayers and blessings to your girls, husband, and family! You earned your wings decades ago!! Fly high and strength to those who still need you here on earth! I know you were always blessed and spread it everywhere while here… We all bless and will always honor you as you did!!

  14. So very sorry to learn of Cheryle’s passing! I knew her when I nursed at Nash General years ago! She was a great nurse! Sending my deepest sympathy to her family……pray In His Love, Stephanie Ramey

  15. Cheryle was a niece and I loved her very much. I will miss her. Yes, she was so kind and sweet all of her life and was a darling baby and child. I have always loved her am very, very hurt. She was much too young to go now. Love Aunt Jean

  16. I don’t know where to begin. I am at a loss for words. I was blessed to have been one of her students. There were many times I went in her office with tears in my eyes feeling less than zero and I would come out of her sitting on top of the world. That was just who she was. There will be no one else like herheart

  17. Cheryle always greeted you with a smile. She was such a warm and kind person. So many nursing students told me how she would help them and spend extra time with them, building their confidence and not letting them get discouraged. What a loss for the nursing profession and NCC!

  18. About 20 years ago my little grandson was admitted to Nash General Hospital due to dehydration. I remember so well Cheryl coming from the IV Department to his room to start his IV. She was so sweet and gentle with him. When she came to work at Nash CC I remembered her as that lady that was so caring and sweet putting in that IV. She will be missed at NCC. Cynthia P. Fisher

  19. You were one of the kindest, most genuine souls I’ve ever met, and made such a huge difference in my life and so many others. You will be missed!
