Carrie Ann Daughtridge Parker

ROCKY MOUNT – Carrie Ann Daughtridge Parker, age 81, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2024. Born in Edgecombe County, NC on April 26, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Jasper Hayes “Jack” Daughtridge and Emma Lee Vick Daughtridge. She was preceded in death by her husband, Williard Lee “”Willie” Parker; her brothers, George Jasper Daughtridge, David Lee Daughtridge, Sr., and Jackie Eugene Daughtridge; her sisters, Nellie May Daughtridge Moore and Shirley Daughtridge Shearin; and her niece and dearest friend, Betty Diane Batts. Carrie, or Ms. Ann, was a brilliant and talented artist and seamstress. She wrote children’s stories, painted, sketched, wood-crafted, and sewed many incredible gowns throughout her lifetime. She dedicated her life to the Lord, and she utilized her talents for His glory and for the good of everyone around her. She was also an avid gardener and loved plants. Ann was an incredible mother and proud of her sons and their families. She was a loving grandmother and granny. She was quick to tell you what she thought, but she would also ponder before she gave advice. But most of all, Ms. Ann loved children. She was an active member at Shenandoah Baptist Church, and she enjoyed teaching Children’s Church. Carrie is survived by her sons, Alton Jay Bulluck and wife, Janice, Tony Ray Bulluck, and Williard Lee Parker, II and wife, Candy; her 8 grandchildren; her 8 great-grandchildren; her brother, Johnny Franklin Daughtridge and wife, Mattie; and sisters, Marie Daughtridge Sawyer and Lorine Daughtridge Crompton. A Funeral Service to celebrate Carrie’s life will be held on Friday, May 24, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Shenandoah Baptist Church, 3894 Shenandoah Drive, Rocky Mount, NC 27803 with Rev. Glen Hill officiating. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, May 23, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home. The family would like to say a special thanks to her entire Shenandoah Church family, Rev. Terry and Gina Johnson, and the many friends and family who loved Ann throughout her lifetime.     *She will recognize and communicate with believers who preceded her to Heaven (Luke 9:28-36)
    I will miss her dearly and remember her until I see her again and rejoice with her in Heaven.
