WILLIAMSTON – Billy Frank Crocker, age 74, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born at Park View Hospital in Rocky Mount, NC on August 15, 1950, he was the son of the late Johnnie Wilton Crocker and Dorothy Louise Hedgepeth Crocker. He was also preceded in death by his younger brother, Phillip Crocker.
Billy graduated from Northern Nash High School before enlisting in the Army, where he proudly served in the 1st Division. After returning home from service, he worked at Abbott Laboratories where he retired after 30 years of dedicated service. Billy was an avid hunter, a stock market enthusiast, and loved old western movies. He was always happiest when traveling in the Appalachian Mountains. Billy was a dedicated husband, caring father, loving and attentive granddaddy, who will be sorely missed.
Billy leaves behind his wife of 41 years, Jerilyn Crocker; his four children, Rodney Shrader, Jonathan Crocker and wife, Stephanie, Elizabeth Pointer and husband, Brian, and John Dane Crocker; his six grandchildren, Tabitha and Isabel Shrader, Mallory and Cayden Crocker, and Madelyn and Russell Pointer; his brother, Johnnie Crocker and wife, Margaret; his sisters, Tonya Bailey, Katherine Crusenberry and husband, James, and Patsy Crocker; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service to celebrate Billy’s life will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Pastor Jason Currie officiating. Burial will follow the service at Red Oak Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
