Barbara Taylor Parker Bunn

ROCKY MOUNT – Barbara Taylor Parker Bunn, age 90, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at the Lodge of Rocky Mount. Born in Nash County, NC on August 2, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Russell Vester Taylor and Thelma Quick Taylor of Rocky Mount. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Richard Moore Parker and George Westray Bunn III; her son-in-law, John Henry Carr; and her grandson, Richard Allen Carr. Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend and will be missed by all who knew her. Barbara is survived by her daughter, Ann Parker Carr of Rocky Mount; her granddaughter, Claire Carr Gulley and husband, Larry, of Raleigh; her great-grandchildren, Lawson Ford Gulley and Hayes Ballard Gulley; her sister, Susan Taylor Stephens; two nieces; several cousins, including special cousins EL and Peggy Daughtridge; her step-children, Martha Bunn of Calabash and David Bunn of Wilson. A Graveside Service to celebrate Barbara’s life will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Pineview Cemetery with Pastor Mike Edwards officiating. The family will be available to receive friends and relatives immediately following the graveside service.
