Robert Lee Colbert, Jr.

January 18, 1942 ~ August 2, 2021

ROCKY MOUNT - Robert Lee Colbert, Jr., age 79, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, August 2, 2021. Born in Nash County, NC on January 18, 1942, he was the son of the late Robert Lee Colbert, Sr. and Nellie Jackson Colbert. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Sandra Pridgen Colbert; and his brother-in-law, James Harrell. Robert was a veteran of the US Army, stationed in Frankfurt, Germany. He worked as a Manager for Fleet Management for many years. He also was an auxiliary police officer and deputy with the Rocky Mount Police Department and Nash County Sheriff's Department. Robert was a charter member of Oak View Baptist Church. He loved fishing and enjoyed building cars out of his garage. Robert was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother and will be missed by all who knew him. Robert is survived by his wife of 14 years, Paula Colbert; his daughters, Lori Colbert Edwards (Brett) of Richmond, VA and Tina Colbert Narron (Jason) of Sharpsburg; his grandchildren, Marta Elizabeth Edwards, Kristen Narron, Hunter Edwards, and Hayley Narron; his brothers, Clyde Thomas "Tommy" Colbert (Pat) and Timothy "Tim" Wayne Colbert (Crystal); and his sister, Patricia Colbert Harrell. A Funeral Service to celebrate Robert's life will be held on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Oak View Baptist Church, 2412 Arlington Street, Rocky Mount, NC 27801 with Rev. David Taylor officiating. Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. A visitation will be from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM prior to the service in the Sanctuary of Oak View Baptist Church. Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made in Robert's memory to Oak View Baptist Church, 2412 Arlington Street, Rocky Mount, NC 27801.
