Red Oak - Mollie Moore Deans, age 100, departed this life on Thursday, August 6, 2015. She was born in Nash County, NC on February 13, 1915, she was the daughter of the late James Waverly Moore and Savannah Cockrell Moore. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Randolph Deans.
Mrs. Deans was an integral part of automobile, R.V. and truck businesses she and her husband founded and successfully operated. She was a life long member of Red Oak United Methodist Church. She graduated from Red Oak High School and became very active in her community and was a star performer in the Red Oak Cracker Jacks show group. She was an avid traveler who toured 49 states and 20 countries in recreational vehicles.
The beloved matriarch is survived by a son and a daughter, William Ronald Deans of Pineola, NC and Barbara Ray Deans of Red Oak. She is also survived by her two grandchildren, Dr. William R. Deans, Jr. of Rocky Mount and David Spruill Deans of Raleigh, NC; and her eight great-grandchildren, William Thomas Deans, Carolyn Marie Deans, Lauren Elizabeth Deans, Paul Griffin Deans, John Randolph Deans, Richard McAlister Deans, Susan Malia Deans and David Lewis Deans.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, August 9, 2015 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home Cremation Services, 1130 N. Winstead Avenue, Rocky Mount NC 27804 with Reverend David Joyner officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service.

Ronald and Barbara, Sorry to hear about the passing of your mother. I have many fond memories of her, particularly growing up in the Methodist church (Sunday school, MYF etc.). She certainly leaves a legacy you both can be proud of. She is the last of that era of southern ladies who attended church with matching hats, handbags and gloves.
