Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Ray was a wonderful childhood friend that I grew up with in the Temperance Hall community. We played and worked together in the same tobacco fields for many years and played ball together at West Edgecomb high school. After school we fished together and developed many memories that I will always cherish. He was a wonderful person who loved his family. He will be missed.

  2. Bruce and Jean. My love thoughts and prayers are with you both throughout this difficult time. I so enjoyed all of my times with Ray. God rest his soul. May your days be filled with loving memories. May your heart and soul find peace and comfort. Patsy Joines Woodard

  3. Jean and Bruce, my heart is heavy for you, and my prayers are lifted for your strength and comfort to come from our loving Lord. Ray was a very special man, an humble man who was well thought of by many. I so appreciated having him to help me with my lawn mowers along the way since Robert passed. Sending my hugs to you both, and praying for you through this difficult time. God bless you each step of the way.

  4. There aren’t words that can explain how Ray fit in our lives, each of his friends have their own take on this unremarkable guy. Flamboyant, loud, not our Ray, not a one of us can think of a time that Ray uttered a unkind or harsh comment in his life. Polite, reserved and a sly wit, that would be a start if I tried. My two brothers who live in Rocky Mount were with him often. Skip and Ray’s annual run to Florida had to have been memorable, I’m pretty sure all the wide mouth bass hid when they set out to catch the next trophy winner.Ray had to be the perfect fisherman if you think about it…..I went by to see Ray when I went down for class reunion, wouldn’t take anything for that visit, I got the awe shucks and stuff, when I reach out to shake his hand when leaving he gave me a tight hug, that’s right, old Ray was something else wasn’t he…….

  5. My prayers are with the Joyner family. May the God of peace give you comfort as you remember Ray now and the days to come.

  6. Jean, at church this morning I heard about Ray’s passing. I am so sorry to hear this. Ray was a really good guy & I know he will be missed. My prayers & thoughts will be with you & Bruce. I will keep you in my prayers.

  7. I want to send my deepest sympathy to the family of Linwood Ray Joyner The bible tells us we can gain comfort from God,even during times of sorrow. 2 Corinthian 13,4 Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our trials so that we may be able to comfort others in any sort of trial with the comfort that we receive from God. May you find comfort by relying on our heavenly father and learning more about the blessings of God’s kingdom. Local ministry volunteer
