Lindsay C. Myers, age 63, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2014. Born in Wayne County on March 15, 1951, he was the son of the late David Leroy Myers and Albie Beasley Myers.
Lindsay graduated from Rocky Mount Senior High in 1970. He attended Hardbarger's Business College and spent many years in sales. He worked at Southland Life Insurance Co. where he received many awards for being top in sales production. While in high school, he worked at Almand's Drug Store in the Camera Cupboard which led to his lifelong love for cameras and taking pictures. He later operated Down East Camera Shop for many years, where everyday was "like Christmas". One of his greatest joys in life was talking to people and sharing his life experiences and knowledge on many subjects.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of nearly 40 years, Valeria "Eddye" Harper Myers; son, Christopher Myers of Greenville; sister, Penny Dawes (Mickey) of Rocky Mount; nephews, Matthew and Joey Dawes; and niece, Heather Adams.
A service to remember Lindsay will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home with Rev. Peter Gilliland officiating. Visitation with the family will begin at 1:00 pm prior to the service. The family will also visitors at the family's home. Burial will be at Parrish Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery in Selma.
