EOW may he Rest In Peace a good and faithful servant. Two things I always remember about Dave 1st the tie with the fish whose name wouldn’t quit and its been real, its been fun, but it ain’t been real fun. He helped me early on in my career and I will always remember him and be forever grateful. May God grant those who miss him peace, comfort, strength and support. Lorinda Schwarz EOCI Chaplain
Dave was an outstanding man of honor and dedication. I was fortunate to have worked with Dave for several years and learned from him, both directly and indirectly, his leadership skills and expectations. In addition to having Dave as a co-worker, I was blessed to call both he and Mary Lou, friends. The world is a poorer place having lost Dave, but Heaven had to rejoice as he entered and received his eternal rewards. Sincere condolences to Mary Lou and their children and grandson. May God bless and keep you.
I am so saddened by this, we just visited Uncle David & Mary Lou last August with my nephew Mike.
So sad to hear of your loss. My prayers are with you.
My condolences to you’re family. What a wonderful career and I’m sure husband and father, grandfather. Men like you’re husband are few and far between.

Your and David’s Prayers and encouragement meant so much to me during my battle with Cancer. I will never forget David and his devotion and love for our Country and Community and all that he met. The World is a better place because of David and he will live on in all that he affected so positively! We will miss David, but we will never forget him! Warm Regards, Fred and Lois Adams
I miss you so very much. So much to still do. Need your input on so many things. Hope you are now resting in peace. Look out for the kids and me please. Love you
Dave, I miss you so very very much. I feel many times lost without you. I need to get myself in gear and try to make everything right. That means lots. But I have to close myself off from the outside and take care of business so I can do what needs to be done for YOY. I miss you so much and am really afraid that I am not actually doing what should be done for you. With Cindy I get kinda off track. But I try. Love you so much and miss you not being here with me.
I had the honor and privilege of working with Dave O’Dea at the Eastern Oregon Correctional Institution (EOCI) early on in my career. I considered Dave to be a mentor as he was so knowledgeable about operations, caring and patient with new employees. Dave had the best collection of colorful ties that I have ever seen – he wore a different one every day. As a New Yorker, he would often mention anecdotes about his life in Up-State New York. Although I lost contact with Dave over the years, his kindness and warm manner left an indelible imprint in me. Marylou and family, please accept my sincere condolences on his passing. May he rest in peace.
