  2. Vivian, Crystal and family. I am so sad to learn of your son and brother’s death. Both of you have been such terrific friends to me and many others here in our community. Many are sending up prayers for you and for John. Stay strong and don’t let your faith in God fail you now. Hugs. Anne Rogers

  3. My heart goes out to his family and friends. I knew him a long time ago. I’m so sorry for ya’lls loss, he was a really good guy.

  4. My baby brother. You would be standing there blushing, looking down at your feet and moving the dirt beneath them hearing and feeling all of the love pouring out as those of us here describe you, grieve over the loss of you, explain to people what you meant to us and the things that you did for everyone. You would be hugging us all as you always did with that smile saying I love you. Your heart was greater than you would ever admit, your love and concern for anyone you thought needed a hand far exceeded your own needs. You fought for our country and our freedom, to protect us. We were just barely a year apart in age and did everything together as children. As I sit here with our mother re reading the letters you wrote to me while you were at war, looking at all of our pictures from the last 37 + years, I am overwhelmed with love for you, proud to be your sister. Our mother and father were proud of you and always wanted the best for you because you deserved only the best. You made so many sacrifices to do what you thought was best for everyone other than yourself, to please them, to protect them. That was who you were. You loved everyone and everyone loved you. We will carry you forever in our hearts. My brother, John Alvin Coley III. I love you. We will all be together again one day. Your big sister – Crystal Lee Coley Smith
