Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Rebekah, I was so sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. I pass by Mrs Bobo’s often on my way to North Carolina, and it always brings back memories of art class, and your mother shuttling us back and forth. Those were such great times. You and your family will be in my prayers. Eddie Shirley

  2. I have childhood memories of playing under the Cedar trees with Janie at the old homestead in Greenville. Janie was one month older than I was. Her older brother John was married to my Mother Elizabeth. Aunt Margaret and Aunt Laura would spend hours reading to us. I joined the army at seventeen and seldom returned to South Carolina and lost touch with the Martin clan. My condolences to the family. Ed King (Ted Martin)

  3. Rebekah, I saw in the paper this morning that your Mom had passed away. I have thought about here a lot in the last few years. I always enjoyed talking to her when she was at Northwood. I will be praying for you and your family. Mary Susan Peason

  4. Dear Rebekah We have so many treasured memories of your Mother during the years that we lived in Greer. All those trips to Trinity Lutheran Day School and the social relationship that we enjoyed for a long time! We know that you will miss her so much, but the hope that we have for an eternal future reunion transcends the sorrow that we feel on this side! May God bless and comfort you and your family!! Love, Ann, Jim, Buddy, Danny, and Betsy Black

  5. Rebekah, We were so sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. We were remembering caroling at you house a few Christmases ago. I know she is singing in Heaven now.You and your family will be in our prayers. Cal and Gail Salsgiver

  6. Mrs. Duncan was the best teacher around. I remember a time where the teachers, teachers aids and their children went to the Worlds Fair in Knoxville and she went. She hung around me and my grandmother seeing the sights. We had a very nice time and I love being around her. I am glad to have known her. You are truly a beautiful person.

  7. I send my condolences to Mrs. Duncan’s family and would like for them to know that she was a real inspiration in my life. She was my first grade teacher at Slater Elementary and even though I am now 50 years old. I will never forget her kind and gentle way with her students. She is loved and will be missed dearly.

  8. Dear Rebekah, I am deeply sadden by the passing of your mother. She and I taught for many years at Slater Marietta Elementary as a first grade team. I learned so much from her about being a teacher and later as a parent to my son. Please know your mother made a positive model of a mother in my life and I will miss love her dearly.
