I was honored to have Mrs. Marion not only as a teacher, but as well as a Pastor’s wife…She was the finest christian Lady I have ever known….she touched so many lives, especially my family…along with Mr. Marion, they worked as a team…They had just came to Chalybeate Springs Baptist Church, when my mother’s mother passed away…will never forget that night.. Mr. Marion came and got me and took me to their home for the rest of the night..they were also there when both my Mother and Daddy died….also when my husband passed away twenty years ago….Mrs. Marion, you will be missed on this earth…but Heaven has gained an Angel…
Mrs. Marion was, without a doubt, the toughest English teacher I ever had, but she was also my favorite. She was the first teacher to bring literature to life for me and ignited what became a lifelong love for the works of Shakespeare. Mrs. Marion was one of those great teachers who actually cared about her students and never let us get away with doing an assignment halfway when she knew we could do better. I have many good memories of her at West Edgecombe and SouthWest Edgecome. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family. She will be missed.
Mrs. Marion was one of the last great ladies of a fading generation. She not only taught me English, but how to carry one’s self through out life. I still have papers from her class, and the comments she wrote on them have served as inspiration through the years. My prayers are with her family and close friends. Heaven just became more heavenly.

Mrs. Marion was one the most wonderful people I have ever known in my life. I remember the summer she was diagnosed with MS, it was between my 8th and 9th grades, such a long time to struggle with such a disease. You see, the Marions moved across from me when I was in the 5th grade, I spent many a day over at their home. I treasured those times and am so blessed she and the rest of the family were in my life. I have had many struggles in my life, that never changed the way Mrs. Marion treated me, it was like I was still the innocent child in the 5th grade again. On my visits home, I would make a point to stop by and see her and Mr. Marion, as their prayers have helped sustain me. I would make her laugh when I would spout out what she made me memorize from Romeo & Juliet. I told her, that I had to do well in her class, could not disappoint her. I love you, Marion Family, thank you for so many memories. Love With All My Heart, Martha Brake
Aunt Jane, one of the best AUNTS ever, always had a smile for you and a good word, as a child if you had done someting wrong she could scold you in a way only Jesus would approve which is what the world doesn’t seem to have anymore a good word or smile. Shore will miss her Tony and SuSu Marion
We have very fond memories of Jane and Everett while we pastored churches in Rocky Mount at the same time.. I also graduated from Wakelon High in Zebulon and Campbell. You all were great examples to us. I rejoiced when you went to my old church at Avalon. We pray for His great comfort and strength to be on you. Love, Shannon and Zelma Scott
I have wonderful memories of Aunt Jane; I remember going to her wedding when I was 5 years old; she was a beautiful bride and a beautiful person throughout her remarkable llife. I am so happy she and my Uncle had 60 wonderful years together.Neice,Jane Marion
I was lucky enough to be one of Aunt Jane’s internet friends. Her E-mail was always cheerful and uplifting. She kept me up to date on how Uncle Everett’s garden was doing, what the grandchildren were involved in, and just any kind of good news she could share.. I will certainly miss her. Niece, Peggy Marion

My deepest sympathy to a wonderful family. Jane was a special cousin. Her Dad and my Dad were first cousins. Those days are special memories when we were together. Love, Barbara Bridgers Barham, Wake Forest, NC
