Ernestine “Tine” Dozier Jenkins

NASHVILLE - Ernestine "Tine" Dozier Jenkins, age 94, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2021. Born in Nash County, NC on December 25, 1926, she was the daughter of the late William "Coon" Ernest Dozier and Maggie Armstrong Dozier. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Jenkins; her sisters, Pat Baker, Willie Batchelor, and Ruth Whitley; and son-in-law, Sam Pulliam. Ernestine was a very independent individual that loved her family, enjoyed working in her yard and loved flowers. She enjoyed hosting family reunions under her pecan trees in efforts to keep family close and did so well into her 80's. Ernestine leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Barbara Jenkins of Nashville, Brenda Pulliam of Nashville, and Woody Jenkins of Atlanta, GA; her grandchildren, Sam "Wayne" Pulliam II and wife, Patti, of Nashville; Nicole Wright and husband, Kevin, of Red Oak; her great-grandchildren, Samantha Pulliam and Brianne Pulliam of Raleigh, Shelbie Terrell and husband, Jason, of Rocky Mount and Ava Wright of Red Oak; her sister, Vernon Avent and husband, Jack, of Raleigh; and a host of extended family. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Forest Hill Cemetery with Russell Gupton officiating. A visitation with the family will follow the service at the graveside.
