  5. I’ve known Carlton for years and was praying for his recovery when first hearing about the diagnosis a year or so ago. I would occasionally call and well into last summer while in Texas we would talk, then relied on his voice mail — as was today Monday, June 4 when I reached a friend and got word that truly stunned me. My heart goes out to Judi Lee, and of course his family. Carlton was a true friend, and colleague in the Community Resource Exchange nonprofit I was hoping to re-join him in after his recovery. He was always helpful and encouraging with me and he will be with me in spirit forever. I am in Richmond at 804-240-5799 and at some point I would like to share my strong feelings for what Judi is dealing with now and down the road.

  6. My sincere sympathy is with all the Harlow family. When I think of Carlton, I especially remember the time he came to my house at Wrightsville Beach to visit his sister, Nancy, who had only a few weeks left to live. Carlton brought us enough food and paper products for days and proceeded to fix a meal for the many friends and family that had gathered to be with Nancy. I felt this was so thoughtful of him and have never forgotten this kind gesture. Carlton, Nancy and their parents are now together and I’m sure they are quite content. Love to you all-Jane Woodbury
