Charles Edward Williams

ROCKY MOUNT – Charles Edward Williams, age 74, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family and friends on Sunday, August 30, 2026. Born on November 1, 1951, he was the son of the late Herbert “Buck” Williams and Mary Williams. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Herbert, Bobby, and Jerry.

Charles lived a life marked by devotion to those he loved. Charles shared 49 cherished years of marriage with his beloved wife, Anita. Their life together was a testament to steadfast love, faithfulness, and the sacred promises of marriage. He was a dedicated husband and father whose love, strength, and guidance will continue to live in the hearts of his family and friends. He never met a stranger, he enjoyed traveling the country with Anita and spending time in Western NC at their mountain home.

Charles devoted 37 years of service to Nash General Hospital, beginning his career in the Radiology Department and later continuing his work in the Information Systems Department. His long tenure reflected his dedication, adaptability, and commitment to supporting the hospital and the community it served. Charles was a member of Nashville Methodist Church, where his faith and fellowship were an important part of his life.

Although his earthly journey has ended, his family finds comfort in the promise that God receives His children with mercy and everlasting love. Charles will be remembered with gratitude, missed beyond measure, and carried forward through the values and memories he gave to those closest to him.

Charles is survived by his wife, Anita Williams; his two sons, Michael Williams and wife, Jessica, and their children, Parker and Hudson, of Greenville, NC and Jonathan Williams and wife, Jennifer, and their children, Austin and Lincoln, of Morganton, NC; his sister, Jenny Akau of Victoria, VA; numerous nieces and nephews; and family and friends who were blessed to know and love him.

A Celebration of Charles’ Life will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Nashville Methodist Church, 209 E. Washington Street, Nashville, NC 27856. A visitation will follow the service in the gathering place of the church.
