ROCKY MOUNT – Kathleen Ira Clark Sullivan, age 102, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2026.  Born in Granville County, NC on October 18, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Ira E. Clark and Della Beulah Baker Clark; and her step-mother, Lillie Harper Clark.  She was also preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Lawrence Linwood  Sullivan; and her son, Larry Sullivan.

Kathleen was a woman of deep faith, strong work ethic, and unwavering love for her family.  She dedicated her entire career to Sears, faithfully serving for many years and ultimately retiring as a division manager at the Rocky Mount location.  Alongside her husband, she was a founding member of Westview Baptist Church in Rocky Mount, where she played a vital role in helping build not only the church itself but a lasting community of faith.  She faithfully served by teaching Sunday school and investing in the lives of others.  Kathleen found great joy in life’s simple and beautiful moments, she loved flowers and gardening, and her home was often a reflection of that beauty.  She was also an exceptional cook, especially known for the love she poured into holiday meals and family gatherings. Her pies, cakes, and home-cooked meals were cherished by all and will be remembered as a sweet expression of her care for those she loved.  She now joins her beloved husband, reunited in heaven after a lifetime of love and devotion.

Kathleen is survived by her son, Gray Sullivan and wife, Terri, of Martinsville, VA; her grandchildren, Kathy Sullivan Kelly, Cindy Sullivan Whitley, Kenneth Sullivan, Jeffrey Sullivan, Andrew Sullivan, and Brian Sullivan; her great-grandchildren, Angela Haley Braswell, Lauren Joyner, Isaac Sullivan, Isaiah Sullivan, Presley Sullivan, Jacob Sullivan, Emilia Sullivan, Payton Kelly, and Maddox Johnson.

A Funeral Service to celebrate Kathleen’s life will be held on Monday, April 20, 2026, at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home and Cremation Services with her grandson, Jeffrey Sullivan and Pastor Bill Coffee officiating.  Burial will follow the service at Pineview Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
