Nashville – Michael Lee Hogshire, age 76, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2025.  Born in Edgecombe County, NC on September 26, 1949, he was the son of the late William Judson Hogshire, Sr. and Margaret Estelle Burrage Hogshire.

A man of great faith, Michael was a life-long and faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church.  He graduated from West Edgecombe High School and worked at Braswell Memorial Library for over 30 years.  A caring and loving brother, uncle, great uncle, and good friend to many, Michael will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

Michael is survived by his brothers, William Judson Hogshire Jr. (Teresa) and John Thomas Hogshire (Gail); his sister, Beverly Hogshire Broad (Douglas); his nieces and nephews, Stephanie Whitaker (Joey), Forrest Hogshire (Jessi), Sarabeth Hogshire, Rachel Broad (Andrew), and Douglas Broad, III (Candice); his great nieces and nephews, Parker Brown, Zoe Broad, Finley Broad, and Turner Hogshire; and many extended family members and good friends.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Michael’s life will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the Trinity Lutheran Church, 433 S Winstead Ave, Rocky Mount, NC 27804, with Pastor Alice Johnson-Curl officiating.  Burial will follow the service at Pineview Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM prior to the service at Trinity Lutheran Church.

    I went to school with Michael. I also went to the Trinity Lutheran Church. I am sure the only one of you that would know who I am is Beverly. My older sister is Peggy Stoddard and my older brother is Chuck Stoddard. Michael was a dear, sweet guy! I am so sorry to hear of his passing. I use to see him at the library. God bless you all!
