Virginia "Ginger" Elizabeth Boone

January 12, 1969 ~ December 2, 2025

Born in: Nash County, NC
Resided in: Nashville, NC

Nashville – Virginia “Ginger” Elizabeth Boone, age 56, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2025.  Born in Nash County, NC on January 12, 1969, she was the daughter of the late Albert Edward Boone Sr. and Patricia “Pat” Jane Bulluck Boone.

A devoted and talented educator for 30 years, Ginger taught math for both middle and high school for the Nash Rocky Mount Public School System and was also a long-time softball coach until her retirement.  Her dedication to her students went far beyond that of a teacher, such that she was a mother to all her students.  As a student herself in high school, Ginger played softball and pitched in the 1986 State Championship.  A woman of great faith, she was a member of Sunset Avenue Baptist Church for many years.  Outside of her career, Ginger especially enjoyed traveling with her children and family to the beach, which was her happy place.  A loving and caring mother, sister, aunt, teacher, and dear friend to many, Ginger will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

Ginger is survived by her daughter, Hunter Elizabeth Andrews; her son, Braxton Andrews; her brother, Albert “Bert” Edward Boone, Jr. (Karen); her sister, Tabitha Wilcox; her nephew, Patrick Boone; her niece, Bridget Boone; fur-babies, Lacy and Jeter; and several extended family members and dearest friends.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Ginger’s life will be held on Monday, December 8, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the Sunset Avenue Baptist Church, 3732 Sunset Ave, Rocky Mount, NC 27804 with Rev. Steve Roberson officiating.  Burial will follow the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.  Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM prior to the service at Sunset Avenue Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Alexandria, VA  22312.
