ROCKY MOUNT – Jackie Gordon Tripp, age 79, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2025. Born in Beaufort County, NC on April 19, 1946, he was the son of the late Charles A. Tripp and Odell Smith Tripp.
Jackie was a former member of Nashville United Methodist Church and an active member of American Legion Post 110. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Throughout his life, Jackie also contributed his time and talents to the United States Power Squadron of Rocky Mount and the Tybee Light Power Squadron of Savannah, GA. He found joy on the water, spending many days boating along the North Carolina coast. A gifted poet, he shared his heart through his collection titled “Caring Thoughts.” Professionally, Jackie distinguished himself as a Senior Production Specialist with Firestone before continuing his service to the public with the NCDMV. In every role, he was known for his dedication, integrity, and steady presence. Jackie’s life was marked by service, creativity, and a deep appreciation for the simple, meaningful moments that make a life well-lived.
Jackie is survived by his cousin, Michelle Blethen and husband, Philip, of Wilmington.
There will be no service at this time.
