Willard "Perry" Lucas

Raleigh – Willard “Perry” Lucas, age 62, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2025.  Born in Edgecombe County, NC on May 8, 1963, he was the son of the late Silas Perry Lucas and Betty Doris Jackson Williams.  He was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Elijah Jr. Williams; his sisters, Cynthia “Cindy” Lynn Lucas Lee, Joyce Marie Lucas Williams, Wanda Jean Lucas Hall, and Deborah “Debbie” Darlene Lucas Wood; and his brother, John “Jay” Cleveland Lucas.

A man of great faith, Perry attended Providence Church in Raleigh until he was physically unable to.  Laid back and easy going, he had a way of saying a lot while speaking very little.  Blessed with the talent of playing the guitar, Perry loved music, enjoyed running, fashion, fishing, and had a soft spot for sports cars.  A loving and caring father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and good friend to many, Perry will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

Perry is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Davis; his grandchildren, Jayla Ushery and P.J. Ushery, Jr.; his brother, William Amos Lucas and wife, Cynthia; his nieces, Renead Joyner, Nakisha Floyd, and Lori Reason; his nephews, Joseph Williams, Matthew Hall, and Anthony Lucas; his special friend and former wife, Katrina Lucas; and many extended family members and good friends.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Perry’s life will be held on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1130 N. Winstead Ave., Rocky Mount, NC 27804 with Annette Scott officiating.
