Spring Hope – David Arthur Hardin, age 58, passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2025. Born in Guilford County, NC on July 16, 1966, he was the son of the late Martha Wanda Fuller Westwood.
A proud combat veteran having been deployed overseas in Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, David served his country as a United States Marine in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s. Following his service and for over 15 years, he worked for Refresco Beverages in Wilson. A brilliant mechanic, David had a love and talent for building and working on a variety of vehicle engines, especially when it came to motorcycles. A devoted and loving father, son, brother, nephew, uncle, and good friend to many, David will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
David is survived by his son, Seth Hardin of Bailey; his brother, Joseph Hardin of Wake Forest; his sister, Amy Stinson and husband, Tommy of Norlina; his step-father, Kirt Westwood of Manson; his aunts, Regina Bridges and Kay Fuller; his nieces, Magen Parker, Vanessa Parker, and Shelby Hardin; his beloved dog, Zeus; and many extended family members and good friends.
A Special Gathering of Family and Friends to celebrate David’s life will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1130 N. Winstead Ave., Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David’s name to either the Wound Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675, or to another veteran’s charity of choice.
