NASHVILLE – Tony Koenig, age 62, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2025. He was born in Burlington County, NJ on January 31, 1963. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Koenig, Jr.
Tony honorably served his country in the United States Air Force for six years, demonstrating dedication and patriotism in every assignment. Following his military service, he continued a life of service with the North Carolina Department of Transportation. As a Transportation Worker III at the NCDOT Nash County Maintenance Yard, Tony was a valued and hardworking member of the team from September 2005 onward. His commitment to both his country and his community reflected the integrity and strength of his character.
Tony is survived by his mother, Verna Jane Koenig; his brother, Bill Koenig and wife, Patty; his sisters, Diane Koenig and Janie Dalton and husband, John; his uncle, Tommy Hendricks and wife, Dixie; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The family will honor Tony’s wishes in a private ceremony.
