Randolph Tucker Daniels

March 19, 1945 ~ January 22, 2025

Rocky Mount – Randolph Tucker Daniels, age 79, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2025.  Born in Martin County, NC on March 19, 1945, he was the son of the late James Robert Daniels and Leitha Harrell Daniels.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Margo Daniels; his sisters, Shirley Jean Daniels Boseman and Rosa Lee Daniels Pittman; and his brothers, Robert Earl Daniels, William Ike Daniels, Sr., and Billy Ray Daniels.

Randolph loved his family dearly.  He was affectionately known around town as the “Cow Tale Man” as he loved handing out the caramel candy to nearly everyone he met.  He was a generous man who never met a stranger.  Randolph had a passion for purchasing storage units and loved to give his customers a bargain on whatever he sold.  He was most known for his large collection of lamps which he would offer to anyone who would take one.  Randolph was a hardworking man who faithfully worked at Textilease in Rocky Mount for over 40 years.  His memory will live on forever in the hearts of his family and friends.  A loving and dedicated father, grandfather, great grandfather, and good friend to many, Randolph will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

Randolph is survived by his son, Donnie Daniels and wife, Missy of Red Oak; his daughters, Dawn Crocker and husband, Ron of Tarboro, and Sandra “Sandy” Adams of Asheboro; his grandchildren, Brittany Daniels of Hawaii, Josh Daniels of Rocky Mount, Matthew Daniels of Red Oak, Tyler Adams and Trent Adams of Spring Hope, and  Ashley Crocker (Nick) of Havelock; his great granddaughter, Sophia; special friend, John Hickey; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and good friends.

A Special Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1130 N. Winstead Ave., Rocky Mount, NC 27804.

A private family burial will take place at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Randolph’s memory to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, NC  27534.

  3. Mr. Daniels was the best neighbor anyone could be blessed to have. From night one he came over introduced himself, welcomed us and became like family. He will be truly missed and his “cowtails”! 💓

  6. It is with heavy heart that I lost my “brother-in-law”, and friend. God blessed me and gave me strength to give loving support to Randolph. Our weekly get togethers were full of laughter and projects. They will be missed greatly. I enjoyed spending time with Randolph talking about Rosa and the entire Daniels family. Have fun in heaven brother and know I love you. Hopefully you can find some of the stew beef that you liked so good. Not sure when I will be able to make it again.
