ROCKY MOUNT – Ellen Estelle Eason Green, age 88, was ushered into her eternal home on Saturday, August 24, 2024, surrounded by members of her loving family. Born in Lunenburg County, VA on February 12, 1936, she was the daughter of the late John Stephen Eason, Sr. and Prudy Magnolia Peace Eason. She was also preceded in death by her first and second husbands, Cleveland L. Keeter and William M. Blount, Jr.; her brothers, John Stephen Eason, Jr. and William Taft Eason; and her sister, Esther Mae Eason.
A woman of great faith, Ellen was a member of Sunset Avenue Baptist Church. She always enjoyed cooking and being in the company of friends and family, all whom she loved dearly. Ellen retired as an Administrator with the Department of Social Services in Halifax County after over 25 years. In her spare time, she actively volunteered to help others with their yearly taxes and found joy in reading to those who were blind. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend to many, Ellen will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
Ellen is survived by her husband, Francis Green; her sons, Donald "Donnie" Keeter (Angela) and Robert "Bobby" Keeter (Barbara); her step children, John Blount (Cindy), Eric Green and Cynthia Green; her grandchildren, Keisha (Chris), Stephanie (Paul), Shannon (Andres), Tresa (Tim), Linda, Michelle (Steve), Shawn (Mark), Aimee (George), Scott (Sonny), and Cary; her great-grandchildren, Brittany (Jeff), Violet, Liam, Michael, Harley, Alyssa, Christina, Sarah, Madisyn (Braxton), Hayden, Amanda, Layla, Dakota, William, and Blake; her great great-grandchildren, Anastasia, Mikhail, Aubrey, Adi, and Aidan; her sisters, Mary Alice Maier, Ann Hayes, Julia Farmer-Lindsey (Monroe), Brenda Brewer (Peaches), and Leona Pridgen; her brother, Earnest Lynwood Eason (Sharon); her sisters-in-law, Gladys Wells and Theresa Eason; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dearest friends.
A Funeral Service to celebrate Ellen’s life will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1130 N. Winstead Ave., Rocky Mount, NC 27804, with Rev. Dr. Robin Fisher officiating. Burial will follow the service at Pineview Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM prior to the service in the Atrium of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Ellen was a second Mother to me after my Mother passed in 2014. She had us over for Easter Dinner that April & several other couples. She always used China & made us feel very special. I am so blessed we spent July 1st through July 5th with her & Fran. I will forever treasure our friendship.

She was a blessing to me! Ellen and my mama Louise Peace Bozard were cousins. She encouraged me so much when my mama passed away. I loved this lady dearly.

Always remember her as always a sweet loving lady who I knew as a tax preparer before going to Faith Baptist Church. What a dear surprise to see her sitting in front of us when we first went there. Always a FRIEND therafter.
Ellen was a faithful servant of our Savior. She will be missed in her Sunday School class. Our love and prayers to Francis and her family..She is now free of all sickness!!Praise our Father!!

Al and I got to know Ellen for she did our taxes down in DeBary, Fl. Ellen,Bill, Al& I became good friends since 1990. We would stop in NC on our way back to NY. We also got to know Frances. We loved Ellen and will miss her so much. She will be with us in a lot of beautiful memories. I know she will be missed by everyone that came in contact with. Al & Carol Ray
