Linda Sims Godrey Hall

ROCKY MOUNT – Linda Sims Godfrey Hall, age 86, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2024. Born in Caldwell County, NC on October 8, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Sidney Lawson Sims and Willerdean “Dean” Hatcher Sims McKellar. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, William Jennings Godfrey, Sr. and husband, Douglas Hall; her son, Billy Steven Godfrey; and her sisters, Sidney Ann Sims Gattis and Jeanette Sims Dickey. Linda was a woman of great faith. She was a wonderful seamstress. Linda loved and provided for her family. She enjoyed reading books, enjoyed traveling, and loved pretty things. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Linda is survived by her son, William “Skip” Jennings Godrey, Jr. and wife, Lorraine; her sisters, Gayle Sims Henry and husband, Marshall and Ellen Sims Bivins; and many nieces and nephews. A Private Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Linda’s memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or Tunnels to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306.
