ROCKY MOUNT – Wilbur Tommy Mosley, age 84, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024. Born in Nash County, NC on March 4, 1939, he was the son of the late Neverson Glocy Mosley and Daisy Mae Mosley. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Edward Earl Mosley, Grady Glocy Mosley, Donald Ray Mosley, Millard Gene Mosley, and Wallace Calvin Mosley; and his sisters, Ruth Mosley Ryals, Velma Mosley Burnette, Vernell Mosley Fuller, Col. Magnolia Mosley, Frances Mosley Winstead, and Emily Jo Mosley Edwards.
Wilbur held a deep affection for his family. His pride and joy was his daughter, Deborah, granddaughter, Brittany, and great-grandchildren, Camden, Rylee, and Emma. He would proudly declare his love for them to anyone who would listen. He had a special fondness for all children, always keeping suckers in his pocket to hand out. A man of faith, Wilbur was a longstanding member of Calvary Baptist Church. Wilbur had an unwavering passion for fishing and spent countless hours pursuing his favorite hobby and sharing it with others. His passing leaves a void that will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him.Wilbur is survived by his wife of 62 years, Gloria Mosley; his daughter, Deborah Keel; his granddaughter, Brittany Mott and husband, Steven; his great-grandchildren, Camden, Rylee, and Emma; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service to celebrate Wilbur’s life will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Pastor Brandon Dees officiating. Burial will follow the service at Pineview Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at Wheeler & Woodlief Funeral Home.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made in Wilbur’s memory to Calvary Baptist Church, 505 S. Englewood Drive, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
